DEDICATED TO FORMATION IN LIFE AND LEARNING
“From among those who are at present only students, various persons will in time emerge–some for preaching and the care of souls, others for the government of the land and the administration of justice, and other for other responsibilities. In short, since young people turn into adults, their good formation in life and learning will benefit many others, with the fruit expanding more widely every day.”
–Saint Ignatius Loyola, Letter to Antonio Araoz

The Jesuit Community at Spring Hill College is engaged in ministry not only to the students, faculty, and staff of Spring Hill College, but also to the wider community of the Archdiocese of Mobile, and beyond. The 2016-2017 Jesuit Community is made up of nine Jesuits from various parts of the United States, and around the world. At Spring Hill, the Jesuits teach, work in campus ministry, offer spiritual direction and retreats for students, faculty and staff, and accompany students in international and domestic mission experiences, working among the poor. In addition, members of the community also assist in parishes in the Archdiocese of Mobile, most notably Fr. José Mesa, who primarily serves Hispanic communities throughout the Archdiocese. The Jesuit mission of Spring Hill endures, not only due to their efforts, but through the ways in which the entire university community is inspired with them to embrace the Jesuit educational mission of forming the whole person, finding God in all things, and reaching out to and serving those most in need.
