Campus Ministry offers students the opportunity to grow in their spiritual life and to find ways to more fully live out a life of faith.
Pastoral Counseling & Spiritual Direction
The staff of Campus Ministry is committed to cura personalis, care of the person, by being available to students for individual conversation – formal or informal. Our office is always open for students to “drop-in” or schedule appointments with campus ministers: we welcome their presence in all our ministries. Spiritual direction is the practice of meeting with another person (a director) on a regular basis to share our faith journey and to grow spiritually and personally. Spiritual directors are listeners, who help us hear where God is calling us in our lives. Spiritual directors are available to all students, faculty and staff.
RCIA
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is offered each year to students, faculty and staff. This is a process, a journey of faith, for those interested in learning about the Catholic faith and possibly becoming Catholic. The sacraments of Initiation are celebrated the Sunday after Easter.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Many Catholic students come to Spring Hill having not received the sacrament of Confirmation. Faith-sharing sessions are offered each year for students who wish to be confirmed. The sacrament of Confirmation is conferred on the Sunday after Easter.
Sacrament of Reconciliation
The sacrament of Reconciliation is offered on the first Wednesday of each month at the 8:00 p.m. Holy Hour in St. Joseph Chapel. Students may also contact Campus Ministry at any time to receive the sacrament.
Sacrament of Matrimony
St. Joseph Chapel and Sodality Chapel are available for Catholic weddings of students, faculty, staff and alumni. Reservations for the chapel can be made up to one year in advance. Call the Campus Ministry office at 251.380.3495 to schedule weddings.
