 Mercy Life

Called to the healing ministry of Jesus Christ and continuing the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy, Mercy LIFE of Alabama, a member of Trinity Health, is committed to providing excellent and innovative health services for the frail elders of our community, especially the poor and under-served. They strive to enable their autonomy and improve their quality of life, addressing the needs of the whole person within a culture of inclusion.


Service times are determined by Mercy LIFE staff and students are required to have their own transportation. A background check is required.

Little Sisters of the Poor

The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international congregation of Roman Catholic women religious founded in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan. Together with a diverse network of collaborators, they serve the elderly poor in over 30 countries around the world. Continuing the work of Saint Jeanne Jugan, their MISSION is to offer the neediest elderly of every race and religion a home where they will be welcomed as Christ, cared for as family and accompanied with dignity until God calls them to himself.

Students should have their own transportation.

Spring Hill Manor

Spring Hill Manor is an assisted living facility in Mobile, AL. Spring Hill Manor offers activities at their location for residents. These activities generally allow residents to maintain healthy lifestyles by encouraging movement and socializing with their peers.

Spring Hill Manor is located a short walking distance from Spring Hill College

Crowne Health Care

Crowne Health Care is a family-owned, statewide nursing facilities. Deeply connected to the Alabama communities they serve, Crowne Health Care works to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and personal needs of residents in a caring, compassionate environment where families come first. Times of service will be determined by the coordinator at orientation.

Students must have their own transportation.

The Via Health, Fitness and Enrichment Center/Senior Citizens Services promote a healthy, active, independent lifestyle among adults. Via/SCS advocates, teaches, and leads healthy aging programs and initiatives for the surrounding community. The Via Health, Fitness and Enrichment Center/Senior Citizens Services aims to be the community leader in healthy aging initiatives by creating and supporting health and wellness programs, education on aging, mature adult advocacy, and family and individual support services with an emphasis on inter-generational learning and research. Student volunteers primarily assist the Grandfriends Recreation Program.

Times of service are very flexible, and can be arranged during orientation.

Students are highly recommended to have their own transportation.
